Which Video Input cable is the best to provide good quality video display?

The following table lists the video input formats and ranked from best quality to worst.

 

 

 

                 

 

 

This resolutions are available only under certain conditions. Conditions include but are not limeted to;

 

 

  • 1080p through component. This resolution is only available when the external device allows 1080p content to be sent through component. For example: the X-box 360 allows 1080p content to be displayed through component cables.
  • 1080i, 720p, 480p through coaxial cable. These resolutions are only available when using the TV's internal ATSC or QAM tuner to decode a digital broadcast that is broadcasted in that resolution.

 

HDMI includes both digital videos and digital audio. DVI includes digital video only. Component, S-video, and composite signal are analog formats.

 

NOTE: Some video components have RGB inputs and outputs. RGB quality is comparable to that of component format
