For models WA406DJHDWR, WA456DRHDWR, WA5471ABW and WA5471ABP Washing Machines, you must use HE (High Efficiency) Detergent.

The washer's automatic dispenser may need to be cleaned periodically to eliminate traces of liquid detergent and fabric softener can solidify in the drawer and drawer compartment or inside the plastic siphon tubes. This build-up can restrict the detergent additives from entering the tub properly.

Symptoms of laundry additive build-up include:

■ Detergent / Fabric Softener does not dispense

■ Excessive water remains in the detergent / softener compartments after cycle finishes

You will need a small non-abrasive brush and warm water.

1 Pull the dispenser drawer straight back until it stops.

2 Tilt the dispenser drawer upward and remove it.

3 Remove the inserts from the 2 compartments, and then rinse the inserts and the drawer with warm water to remove traces of accumulated laundry products.

4 Clean the drawer opening using a small, non-abrasive brush to clean the area. Remove all residues from the upper and lower parts of the opening.

5 Return the inserts to the proper compartments and replace the drawer. Place the dispenser drawer rail (2) on top of the compartment rail (1), and then push the drawer in firmly.
