Set up a network connection on your Samsung Smart TV

Your Samsung Smart TV can be connected to the internet using a wireless or wired network connection. Connecting to a network provides access to various apps and services, and allows you to control your home's smart devices from the screen. The instructions in our guide will help you connect your TV to a network.

Note: To use smart features, you must connect to a network, agree to the terms and conditions, and sign in with a Samsung Account.

Connecting to a Wi-Fi network is the easiest and most seamless way to access the internet on your TV. Make sure you have your wireless network name (SSID) and password before trying to connect.

1 Navigate to and select Settings, and then select All Settings.

2 Select Connection.

3 Select Network, and then select Open Network Settings.

4 Select Wireless, and then select the name of your Wi-Fi network.

Note: If no wireless access point is found, select Add Network at the bottom of the list and enter the network name (SSID).

5 Enter the network password, and then select Go.

6 Your TV will be connected to the Wi-Fi network. Select OK.

Notes:

  • To connect to a wireless network, the wireless network function must be active.
  • If needed, you can enable or disable the Wi-Fi connection. Select Settings, then select All Settings, then select Connection, and then select Network. Select Expert Settings, and then select and enable the Wi-Fi network.

You can also connect your TV to a wired network.

1 Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port on your TV or on the One Connect Box, and then connect the other end to your router or modem.

2 Navigate to and select Settings, then select All Settings, and then select Connection.

3 Select Network, and then select Open Network Settings.

4 Select Wired.

5 Your TV will automatically detect the wired connection. Select OK to acknowledge the successful connection.

Notes:

  • To connect a LAN cable, use a CAT 7 (STP type) cable for the connection (100/10 Mbps, Shielded Twisted Pair).
  • The TV will not be able to connect to the network if your network speed is below 10 Mbps.
  • Wired networks are not supported on some models.

Resetting your TV’s network settings reverts the settings to their factory defaults. This is helpful if you’re experiencing network issues or need to update your network setup.

1 Navigate to and select Settings, then select All Settings, and then select Connection.

2 Select Network, and then select Reset Network.

3 Select Reset when prompted.

4 Next, select Network Settings to reconfigure the network settings.

Note: If you need detailed guidance on setting up your internet connection, refer to the previous sections above on connecting your Samsung TV to the internet using either a wired or wireless method.

You can locate your TV’s MAC address in the Settings menu if it is needed for network security purposes, network connection issues, or troubleshooting.

1 Navigate to and select Settings, and then select All Settings.

2 Select Support, then select About TV (on some models, this may be labeled as About This TV). You may need to scroll down to display the MAC address.

Notes:

  • If you are having trouble with your Samsung Smart TV, you can check for available software updates, as these may contain a solution to your problem.
