Safety advice for your battery pack
Last Update date : Mar 17. 2023
Samsung is committed to providing a safe experience with safe and secure products. Samsung battery packs have built-in high-quality, high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Follow these steps to protect your battery pack and get the most out of it.
Before using your battery pack
As a consumable product, battery packs have the characteristic of decreasing their remaining life as the number or duration of charges increases. Prolonged use may result in an increase in battery charges or a decrease in the capacity of the charging capability.
Battery pack environments
- Samsung battery packs are designed to work well in environments with varying temperatures, such as temporary high or low temperatures. Continuous battery charging or use in extreme temperatures may affect battery ageing.
- The appropriate operating temperature environment of the battery pack is 0 ~ 35°C.
- Prolonged use or storage in temperatures higher than 35°C or lower than 0°C may degrade battery performance and shorten battery life.
- Do not use or leave in a high-temperature environment such as a sauna or a in a parked car parked in direct sunlight for a long time. In addition, external environments with low temperatures, such as sub-zero temperatures in winter, may adversely affect the battery.
Using the Battery Pack Safely
- When the battery pack or connected device has finished charging, disconnect the USB cable from the product and the device.
- The battery pack and charger may become hot while the battery pack is charging. If the temperature gets too high, the product may stop charging for safety.
- Do not subject the product to severe shock, such as dropping it. The life of the product or battery may be shortened, or damage or failure may occur.
- When not in use for a prolonged period always store the battery with around 50-70% of the battery charged and keep in a cool environment without humidity to protect the battery and its performance.
- Charge the battery with an original Samsung charger to prevent discharge.
- Do not place the product on heated floors or electric blankets where there is a risk of overheating. The heat can damage the battery, causing it to overheat or cause injury.
- Do not place the product near or inside heated devices, such as cooking appliances (stoves, microwave ovens, etc.), or high-pressure containers.
What to do in case the battery pack is not working
- If the LED flashes quickly while charging the battery pack, it may indicate that heat generation or deep discharge has occurred inside the battery. If this occurs, stop charging immediately. If this happens again, have it checked at the nearest service center.
- The battery pack and charger may become hot while charging. If it becomes too hot disconnect the charger and let the product cool down before charging again.
- If the charging connector of the battery pack is experiencing extreme heat, it is possible that the connected charging cable is damaged. In that case, replace it with a new original cable before use.
Disposing of the battery pack safely
- Follow local environmental guidelines for safe disposal or recycling of batteries.
- Do not dispose of batteries with regular waste.
- Do not mix battery types when disposing them.
- Do not dispose of any batteries in a fire.
Please note: It is important to follow your devices specific battery charging and handling instructions.
