How to connect a Galaxy Watch to a smartphone
Galaxy Watch is designed to make your life easier in every way possible. It analyzes your health, monitors your exercise activity, lets you play music and make phone calls. On top of that, you can connect your Galaxy Watch to any type of smartphone, no matter if it is Android™ or iOS™. Below, find out how you can connect your Galaxy Watch to your smartphone.
Connect your Galaxy Watch to a smartphone via Bluetooth
To connect your Galaxy Watch to a smartphone with Bluetooth, use the following steps:
Make sure your Galaxy Watch is powered on, then on your smartphone:
- Launch Galaxy Wearable → Tap Start → When the Bluetooth launch window appears, select a product to connect to → Tap Done.
If you already have a connected wearable device:
- Tap Galaxy Wearable → Menu (3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner) → Add new device.
Please note: Before connecting your smartphone, you must install the Galaxy Wearable application. Samsung's Android™ smartphones may use the Galaxy Store or Play Store™. Other Android™ smartphones must use the Play Store™ while iOS™ smartphones must use the Apple Store™.
Connecting your Galaxy Watch to a new smartphone
Before connecting your Galaxy Watch to a new smartphone be sure to back up any data stored on your Galaxy Watch in a safe place.
When a new smartphone is connected, the Galaxy Watch will automatically recognize the new device and an initialization guide message will appear.
On your Galaxy Watch:
Drag the screen down and tap the Settings icon → General → Connect to a new phone → Reset process to enter the Bluetooth registration standby state after initialization.
