Daylight Savings Time Sync Issues
The Government of Chile recently announced that, due to the Exit Plebiscite votes, the Daylight Saving Time (DST) start date will be changed from the night of September 3 to the night of September 10, a week later than before.
Samsung devices have already been set to start on September 3 by software encryption, so the device will display Daylight Saving Time (DST) from this date.
The app or software needs to be updated via FOTA and then the device needs to be rebooted.
However, some models may not have the version of the application or software with the patch before September 3.
To resolve this issue, a manual tune-up (workaround) is required between September 3 and September 10.
Temporary solution (Manual adjustment)
Before September 11 (from September 4 to 11):
Settings > General management > Date and time > disable 'Automatic date and time' > manually set the correct date and time
After 9/11 (start date): Settings > General management > Date and time > activate "Automatic date and time".
Check the Software version - Settings > About phone > Software information > Android version
How to solve this problem in each case
① Android OS 3 to 7: Manually set in device settings.
- Before September 11 (from September 4 to 11):
Settings > General management > Date and time > disable 'Automatic date and time' > manually set the correct date and time
- After September 11 (start date):
Settings > General management > Date and time > activate "Automatic date and time".
② Android OS 8 to 9: Update automatically with fixed app via Galaxy Store.
Condition: Samsung account and accept the terms and conditions in Galaxy Store (If you don't have a Samsung account, you can register a new Samsung account and accept the terms and conditions of Galaxy Store)
If you don't want to have a Samsung account or it doesn't work with the fixed app, then you have to set the date and time manually in the device settings.
③ Android OS 10 to 13 : (automatically or manually) update the Google Play system app, then reboot the device
Route 1:
Route 2:
Note:
If you don't enter the menu (Google Play system update), it means that it has already been updated automatically.
But if it doesn't work with the Google Play system app, then you have to adjust the date and time manually in the device settings.
④ Other models and models not working with update: (if available) update the software version on the device via FOTA and then reboot the device or set manually in settings.
- Path: (software version update by FOTA) Settings > Software update > Download and install > check the available software version.
- Lists of models to be updated (to be updated):
- Galaxy J6, Galaxy J8, Galaxy J6+, Galaxy J4, Galaxy A7 (2018), Galaxy S9+, Galaxy Note9
- manual setting
- Before September 11 (from September 4 to 11):
- Settings > General management > Date and time > disable 'Automatic date and time' > Manually set the appropriate date and time.
- After 9/11 (start date):
- Settings > General management > Date and time > activate "Automatic date and time".
For Fit models (Fit, Fit-e, Fit2), Watch4, Watch5
Please check the Android OS version of the mobile device and update the app or software version via FOTA.

For Watch, Active1, Active2, Watch3
Please update the software version by FOTA via mobile device
- Path: Open the 'Galaxy Wearable' app on the mobile device > Watch Settings > Watch Software Update > check the available software version.
