How to set the vacation mode or the lock function on my refrigerator?
There are some functions that you can use if you don't use the refrigerator for a long time or if you want to block control of the refrigerator; Vacation mode, Control lock, Dispenser lock, and Dispenser panel lock. Check out each function and how to activate it from below.
Vacation Mode
If you are going on vacation or a business trip, or if you do not intend to use the refrigerator for an extended time, use the Vacation mode. The fridge temperature will be controlled under 17°C (62.6℉), but the freezer remains active as previously set.
Note:
- Make sure to remove foods in the fridge compartment before using Vacation mode.
- The Vacation mode will be disabled if you adjust the temperature.
- Control panel images and setting methods may differ depending on the model.
- ·Type 1. Press and hold Vacation for 3 seconds. The Vacation indicator turns on while the display of the fridge temperatures will turn off.
- To deactivate Vacation mode, press and hold Vacation again for 3 seconds. The fridge temperature will return to the previous setting.
- Type 2. Tap any button (<, O, or >) to wake up the display. (This step may not apply to some models.) Tap O to select the fridge. Then, Tap < or > to select the Vacation mode. The Vacation indicator will turn on.
Control Lock
If you want to prevent accidents or unintended use of the controls, use the Control lock function.
Note:
- The Control lock on the main panel does not affect the dispenser.
- The dispenser and, therefore, the dispenser lever operate independently. To lock the dispenser and dispenser lever, use the Dispenser lock function.
- Control panel images and setting methods may differ depending on the model.
- This is only about those models that have the Control lock function.
- Type 1. Press and hold the Control Lock for 3 seconds. All the controls will be disabled with the indicator on.
- To deactivate, press and hold again for 3 seconds. The controls will be enabled as normal
- Type 2. Press and hold the Door Alarm for 3 seconds. The main panel will be disabled, and the Control lock indicator will turn on. When the Control lock is on, the indicator blinks if any button on the main panel is pressed.
- To deactivate the Control lock, press and hold the button again for more than 3 seconds. However, Control lock will be reactivated if no button is pressed within 1 minute.
Dispenser Lock
If you want to prevent the use of the dispenser panel buttons and the dispenser lever, use the Dispenser lock.
Note:
- The Dispenser lock on the dispenser panel does not affect the controls on the main panel. To lock the main panel, use the Control lock function on the main panel.
- The control panel images and setting methods may differ depending on the model you have.
- This is only about those models that have the Dispenser lock function.
- Press and hold the Water/Ice for more than 3 seconds.
- To deactivate, press and hold again for 3 seconds.
Dispenser Panel Lock
If you want to prevent the use of the dispenser panel buttons and dispenser lever, use Dispenser panel lock.
Note:
- The Lock on the dispenser panel does not affect the controls on the main panel.
- To lock the main panel, use the Control Lock function on the main panel.
- Press and hold Water for more than 3 seconds.
- Press and hold Water for more than 3 seconds.
- To deactivate, press and hold again for 3 seconds.
