How to install the refrigerator water supply line?

Your refrigerator dispenses refreshing ice and water all year long... as long as it's connected to a water supply line. If your home doesn't have a water line installed from a previous refrigerator, you will need a water line that can run between the water pipes in your home and your fridge.

Note: New hoses supplied with the appliance should be used and old hoses should not be reused.

  • Water line installation should only be performed by a qualified technician. 

 

  • Water pipe installation is not covered by the refrigerator warranty. Water pipe installation must be performed at your expense unless the installation fee is included in the retail price. 
 
  • Samsung is not responsible for water pipe installation. In case of water leakage, contact the water pipe installer.

To connect the cold water pipe to the water filter hose, follow these steps

CAUTION:

Make sure the water filter hose is connected to a cold, potable water pipe. If connected to a hot water pipe, the purifier may malfunction.

Step 1.

Shut off the water supply with the main valve.

Step 2.

Locate the cold potable water pipe (1).

Step 3.

Follow the water pipe installation instructions to perform the installation.

Step 4.

Once the connection is completed, open the main water valve and dispense approximately 3 liters of water. This procedure is to remove impurities from the piping.

To connect the cold water pipe to the water filter hose, follow these steps

Make sure the water filter hose is connected to a cold, potable water pipe. If connected to a hot water pipe, the purifier may malfunction.

Step 1.

Loosen and remove the compression nut (a) from the chiller water pipe and insert the water filter hose.

Step 2.

Tighten the compression nut (a) to connect the water filter hose and water pipe.

Step 3.

Open the main water valve and check for leaks.

Step 4.

If there are no leaks, dispense approximately 3 liters of water before using the cooler in order to remove impurities from the water filtering system.

NOTE

If you must relocate the chiller after connecting the water pipe, make sure that the pipe joint section is kept straight.

CAUTION

Do not install the water filter in any part of the cooler. This could damage the refrigerator.
