Troubleshooting

1 Press the Home / Menu button on the TV remote. Check whether the lines are still visible on the menu screen?

Performing a Picture Test / Video Test

  1. From the Home screen, press left on the remote.
  2. Navigate to and select Settings.
  3. Navigate to and select All Settings.
  4. Navigate to and select Support.
  5. Navigate to and select Device Care.
  6. Navigate to and select Self Diagnosis.
  7. Select Video Test / Picture Test. Use these test when you experience a problem with your TV's picture / video quality.

4 Navigate to and select Device Care.

5 Your device will run a quick scan. Once completed, highlight and select Self Diagnosis located at the bottom of the screen.

6 Scroll across and select Picture Test / Video Test. Once selected, an information screen will appear stating you are about to perform a Picture Test / Video Test. Select OK to proceed.

6 In Picture Test, A test picture will now appear. If the issue is intermittent or does not always show in the picture test, it is worth booking a technician to service the TV as it may still be a connection fault.

Video Test - Demo video will play on the TV screen. If the issue is intermittent or does not always show in the video test, it is worth booking a technician to service the TV as it may still be a connection fault.

Follow the steps below to learn how to perform a Picture Test on your 2020 and 2021 model TVs 

1 Press the Home icon Home button on your Samsung remote control to bring up the Smart Hub and then select Settings cog Settings.

2 Scroll down to the Circle with a spanner inside Support tab and then select Device Care.

Note: If Device Care is greyed out, please exit the app running in the background of your TV.

3 Your device will run a quick scan. Once completed, highlight and select Self Diagnosis located at the bottom of the screen.

4 Scroll across and select Picture Test. Once selected, an information screen will appear stating you are about to perform a Picture Test. Select OK to proceed.

2 Scroll down the tabs on the left-hand side and select Cloud with a question mark in it. Support . Once you are on the Support menu, select Self Diagnosis .

Note: If Self Diagnosis is greyed out, please exit the app running in the background of your TV.

3 On the Self Diagnosis page scroll down the page and select Picture Test. You will then see a pop-up box informing you that a test photo will be shown. Select OK to advance.

4 A test picture will now appear. If the issue is intermittent or does not always show in the picture test, it is worth booking a technician to service the TV as it may still be a connection fault.
Smart TV: There are horizontal/vertical lines on the TV screen

2015 Models: Menu > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test

Case 1 :- If the lines are visible on the menu screen, please get in touch with our Samsung customer care for further assistance.

Case 2 :- If the lines are not visible on the menu screen then perform the Picture Test  / Video Test.

Video Test :- This function may not be supported depending on the geographical area and model.

2 Check the input source (HDMI 1, Video, PC, etc.) and connection to see if they are properly connected. Disconnect and re-connect the video cable/HDMI to check if the issue is resolved.
3 Check the TV by connecting other Source (pen drive)

Play any multimedia file through USB. Check whether the lines are still visible on the TV screen.

Case 1 :- If Yes, please get in touch with our Samsung customer care for further assistance.

Case 2:- If lines are not visible through USB then check the connected Source.
