Use SmartThings Energy with your Samsung refrigerator
The SmartThings Energy feature allows you to actively monitor and assess your Samsung refrigerator’s power consumption, which in turn enables you to make informed decisions that will help lower your electricity bill and carbon footprint. First, SmartThings Energy will identify the features of your refrigerator that are consuming too much energy. Then, you can enable AI Energy Mode to prevent your refrigerator from using more energy than is necessary.
Note: Before proceeding, your refrigerator must be connected to the SmartThings app on your phone or tablet.
The Energy feature will help you take control of your Samsung refrigerator’s energy usage, thereby empowering you to make informed decisions about your home’s electricity.
Note: The following images may differ from the screens displayed on your device. Please refer to the on-screen instructions within the app if necessary.
Note: If prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to set up the Energy feature.
SmartThings AI Energy Mode lets advanced algorithms optimize your energy usage, resulting in reduced costs and a greener footprint for your home.
Note: Enabling AI Energy Mode will decrease energy consumption, but may also reduce the cooling performance of your Samsung refrigerator.
AI Energy Mode is designed to optimize your Samsung refrigerator’s energy consumption by adjusting the cooling capacity of the inverter compressor based on your preferred settings. It aims to reduce energy consumption while also maintaining acceptable cooling performance.
However, it's important to note that enabling AI Energy Mode may result in a slight decrease in the refrigerator's cooling performance. In other words, you may notice weaker cooling or melted items in the freezer. This is not a product defect.
To solve this, please try temporarily disabling AI Energy Mode, and then turning it back on. This may reset your settings and restore your cooling preferences.
If your refrigerator is a model that supports AI Energy Mode 2.0, you can use the energy saving function in two stages through the SmartThings app. If you select energy saving Level 2 when using version 2.0, you may notice weak cooling performance. Please reconfigure the setting to Level 1 to ensure optimal performance.
If Level 1 is selected in AI Energy Mode version 2.0 or if you are using Energy saving mode in version 1.0 and experience weak cooling, or the items in the freezer begin to melt, try temporarily disabling AI Energy Mode. Then, turn it back on.
