It is a 15 digit alphanumeric number.
Example: 1ABC2DEFXXXXXXX

A serial number ends with an alphabet.

Along with serial number model code is also mentioned on the same sticker.

Indoor unit:
New: it is pasted on right side (bottom)
Old: it is pasted on right side (corner)

Outdoor unit: It is pasted on discharge pipe/suction pipe/control box.

Note: Model Number would be same for indoor and outdoor units but serial number for the 2 units will be different
