Similar to the likes of other Samsung rugged phones, the Galaxy XCover6 Pro gives frontline workers two programmable XCover Keys — top and side key — that can be customised to easily launch specific apps.
The XCover Keys can be customised to launch Microsoft Teams by pressing the top key which will launch the Microsoft Teams app and enable the push-to-talk feature.⁴ This allows for seamless communication between workers as they’ll be able to collaborate better on the job site through video calls, shared documents, and access to coworkers schedules which make it easier to plan meetings and adhere to timelines. Complemented by improved speaker volume, frontline workers are able to hear and communicate effectively, even in the loudest environments.
Similarly, the XCover Keys can be used to launch Knox Capture, a barcode scanning app, by double pressing the side key to turn the phone's camera into a barcode scanner.⁵ Data retrieved from the barcode can then be sent to the mobile point of sales app, which workers can access to process customer transactions.
In essence, the XCover Keys enable workers to quickly access the tools and apps they need, without the hassle of unlocking the phone and navigating through its home screen.
