Hong Kong – April 26, 2024 – Samsung Electronics H.K. Company, Limited today announced the upcoming expansion of three new languages for Galaxy AI through language pack downloads: Arabic, Indonesian and Russian, as well as three new dialects: Australian English, Canadian French, and Cantonese, which has been highly anticipated by Hong Kong users. In addition to the 13 languages[1] already available, Samsung empowers even more Galaxy users around the world to harness the power of mobile AI. In addition to these new languages and dialects, Samsung plans to add four more languages later this year, including Romanian, Turkish, Dutch and Swedish, as well as the traditional Chinese and European Portuguese.

Starting from April 26, the newly added language packs can be available to Galaxy S24 Series, Galaxy S23 Series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Tab S9 Series (not applicable to Galaxy Tab S9 FE Series), downloadable in Settings under General Management > Language Packs[2], users simply need to check Available for Download to locate the language packs.      

 

The Galaxy AI language expansion allows even more users to innovate their working and entertainment experiences with applicable features, and at the same time enjoy optimized communications without language barriers.

 

• Call Assist

Produces two-way, real-time voice and text translations of phone calls, making it easier than ever to book reservations while traveling or chat with your foreign business partners.

 

• Interpreter

Instantly translates live conversations through a user-friendly split-screen view, enhancing accuracy of multi-lingual communications – an effective conversational tool for daily usage and travels.

 

• Chat Assist

Samsung Keyboard supports text translation and context-aware suggestion. Users can simply input text in Cantonese tone to be translated by Galaxy AI. At the same time, Traditional Chinese will be shown where Cantonese text translation is generated from other languages.

 

Helps perfect conversational tones by generating context-aware suggestions, enabling users to adjust writing styles to suit different social scenarios.

 

• Note Assist

Creates AI-generated summaries, pre-formatted templates and cover pages, elevating your day-to-day productivity.

 

• Transcript Assist

Uses AI and Speech-to-Text technology to transcribe, summarize and even translate voice recordings.

 

• Browsing Assist

Helps you stay up to speed on what’s happening in the world while saving time by generating concise summaries of news articles or web pages.
