Samsung SW Academy for Youth
Since 2018, we have operated Samsung SW Academy for Youth (SSAFY) in Korea in association with the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor. The program offers a year of theoretical and practical training to help aspiring young software developers hone their skills and enhance their employment prospect. In the introductory course, students are exposed to algorithms, coding, web technology, and more. The advanced course provides practical training on the Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, including AI and IoT. In 2023, we provided a total of KRW 41.7 billion to Samsung Youth SW Academy.

“When I was an economics major, I gained an interest in programming. So, I spent some time studying it, and by graduation I committed to becoming a developer. Through a friend’s recommendation, I joined SSAFY. When I started at SSAFY, I had never used Java before, but I enrolled in a JAVA class out of curiosity. I think that the courage along with the training support at SSAFY shaped who I am today! If you find what interests you through SSAFY and begin to study it, so long as you don’t neglect your programming studies, I’m confident you’ll be where you want to be when you finish the program!”
