The Samsung Culture Index(SCI) is an annual organizational culture diagnosis that surveys Samsung Electronics employees around the world. Since 2012, we measured employee job satisfaction via the SCI and as of 2022, the survey has become an organizational health diagnostic tool focusing on identifying and improving the strengths and weaknesses of our organizational culture. The SCI diagnosis areas include work engagement, team collaboration, and company pride. Each area features “outcome” questions to gauge the health of the organizational culture and “driver” questions to pinpoint areas for improvement. In 2023, the SCI assessment was distributed across 132 business sites, collecting data from over 210,000 employees globally. The results indicated an overall company satisfaction rate of 84%, a 1%p increase from the previous year.
We offer organizational culture consulting for units with lower SCI scores to identify improvement points and offer solutions. We engage professional consultants if deemed necessary and encourage the unit head and staff members to join hands and develop improvement plans for problems detected through the survey and employee interviews. In particular, we evaluate improvements through pre- and post-consulting pulse surveys and then share the feedback with department heads to continually foster improvements in each department’s organizational culture.
Under the key message of "Diverse eXperience in Samsung", we value the experiences of our employees and, by doing so, strive to remain relevant and competitive as an employer. We work with "employeeners(employee + influencers)" who share their stories of working at the company with internal and external audiences through self-made videos.
