How to use Gaming Hub on your Samsung Smart TV

The Samsung Gaming Hub is a new game streaming platform that brings hardware and software together for an incredible player experience! It’ll enable gamers to instantly access the games they love from industry-leading content partners. Gamers can also look forward to better gameplay with minimized judder and blur, thanks to advanced motion enhancements and latency reducing technology.

Note: The Samsung Gaming Hub is accessible on Samsung Smart TVs and Smart Monitors produced in 2022 and later. Available features may differ based on the country of service and specific product model.

Stream a wide variety of games right on your Smart TV through the Gaming Hub! Your preferred controllers can be connected through Bluetooth or USB. For a list of compatible controllers, please see the Compatible devices section.

Below are some of the settings and features you’ll find on the Gaming Hub landing page:

Learn More/Recently Played

 

  • Learn More: View Gaming Hub information and details, including how to use your devices.

  • Recently Played: View a list of the most recently played cloud games through Gaming Hub.

Accessories & Music

 

  • Controllers: Select a controller to connect to the Smart TV.

  • Audio: Select an audio device to connect to the Smart TV.

  • Music Services: Manage your preferred music service.

Apps & Devices

 

View and manage apps or devices that are required to play games on your Smart TV.

Game List

 

Purchase games or subscribe to services that are offered in the Gaming Hub (additional fees may apply). You can select a game to view its details. Keep in mind that some games will require you to install related apps.

Game Activity and Options

 

This menu is located at the bottom of the landing page and will let you configure your desired gaming options.

  • Game Rating Lock: Set the age limit for playing cloud games. Selecting your child’s age in the pop-up menu will let you block content that is rated inappropriately for your child. Otherwise, you will need to input your PIN code to access the game.

  • Tutorial: Provides information about the Gaming Hub and device instructions.

In Samsung Smart TVs from 2022 onward, the Smart Hub has been revamped to feature distinct tabs like Media, Game, and Ambient. Access the Gaming Hub swiftly through the Game tab, or simply press the Home button on your connected controller or remote.

There are multiple ways to play on the Gaming Hub! Selecting and launching a game will let you begin streaming immediately. Or, you can browse the available apps and services to find something new to try out. Some services may ask you to subscribe before playing and additional fees may apply.

Get started with the Gaming Hub

You can also connect a personal gaming console, such as an Xbox One X, and launch the console from the Gaming Hub.

Note: Certain functions may not be supported depending on the Smart TV model or geographic location.

The Quick Panel will help you search for games, videos, and music. You’ll also be able to pair Bluetooth controllers and adjust gaming settings like picture mode and surround sound.

Use the Quick Panel

To access the Quick Panel, press and hold the Play/Pause button on your Smart TV remote, or press and hold the Home button on your connected controller. The following options will be available:

  • Search: Use Samsung’s Universal Search function.

  • Controller/Sound Output: Connect Bluetooth controllers and change the sound output.

  • Surround Sound: Adjust the audio quality.

  • Game Picture: Adjust the picture quality.

  • Game Performance: Select Low Latency mode for responsive gameplay or AI Upscaling mode for smooth visuals. These functions may not be supported depending on the Smart TV model.

Note: The Gaming Hub is available on Samsung Smart TVs and Monitors produced in 2022 and later, and requires the Smart TV software to be updated to version 1302.5 or higher. Audio output via the Smart TV's 3.5mm port is not supported.

Compatible devices

If you aren’t sure which controllers are compatible with the Gaming Hub, you can check out our lists below.

  • Microsoft: Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One S, Xbox 360, Xbox Elite Wireless Series 2, and Xbox Adaptive controllers

  • Sony: DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers

  • Google: Stadia controller

  • Amazon: Luna controller

  • Joytron: CYVOX DX controller

  • Logitech: F710, F510, and F310 controllers

  • PowerA: MOGA XP5-X Plus controller

  • Nvidia: Shield controller

Note: The on screen gaming controls and force feedback may vary depending on the controller. Xbox controllers may require firmware updates. Tizen TVs will only support XInput mode. Other third-party Bluetooth controllers may be compatible.

The Gaming Hub supports USB and Bluetooth controllers for streaming gameplay as well as navigating your Smart TV. You can use the following steps to connect a controller.

Navigate with your controller
  1. Navigate to and open the Gaming Hub, and then use your Smart TV remote to select the controller icon.

  2. Place your Bluetooth controller in pairing mode. Please note that sach controller will have a different method for pairing. Refer to your controller’s user manual for instructions.

  3. When your controller appears on the list, select it using the Smart TV remote.

Note: Up to 4 Bluetooth controllers can be connected at the same time. Up to 2 Bluetooth controllers can be connected if there is 1 Bluetooth sound device in use. It is recommended to use USB controllers when using 2 Bluetooth sound devices. The above steps may not work if you have connected the controller via Wi-Fi.

The following information will help you resolve certain errors in the Gaming Hub, such as picture, sound, and network status issues.

  • The Gaming Hub will not display: The Gaming Hub requires your Smart TV software to be updated to version 1302.5 or later. Please check your Smart TV’s software version and then update the software if necessary. Then, unplug the Smart TV’s power cord and plug it back in. You can also press and hold the remote’s Power button for at least 3 seconds.

  • The picture or sound is interrupted or slow during gaming: Check the network status of the Smart TV by navigating to Settings, then selecting Support, and then selecting Device Care. Select Self Diagnosis, and then select Smart Hub Connection Test. If the network status is OK after running the test, contact your network service provider to check the internet speed. For the recommended network speed, please contact the game service provider.
