How to use Sabbath mode on your Samsung refrigerator
Sabbath mode is a valuable feature that allows you to adapt your refrigerator to comply with specific religious laws for holidays and days of rest. This mode ensures that the refrigerator's panel and lights do not respond to any input, including button presses or door openings.
Note: The information provided pertains to refrigerators sold in Canada, and settings may vary for appliances sold in other countries. It's essential to be aware that not all Samsung refrigerator models come equipped with Sabbath mode. If your user manual does not mention this feature, your specific model likely does not have it.
When your refrigerator is in Sabbath mode, its buttons, display, and internal lights will remain inactive. However, the cooling functions of both the refrigerator and freezer will continue to operate. This adherence to Kosher certification requirements ensures that your refrigerator remains compliant during periods of rest, even in the event of a power outage. Sabbath mode remains active for 85 hours after activation.
Use Sabbath mode with SmartThings
If your refrigerator model supports both Sabbath mode and SmartThings, you can conveniently enable or disable Sabbath mode through the SmartThings app.
To do so, open SmartThings and select your refrigerator. Next, navigate to Menu, tap Refrigerator options, and then tap Sabbath mode.
Enabling or disabling Sabbath mode on your refrigerator is straightforward:
• Door Alarm and Water/Ice.
• Freezer and Door Alarm.
• Power Freeze and Power Cool.
• The O and > buttons. Then, tap the > button.
