All these identifiers serve crucial yet distinct purposes in product identification and management.

Model number: This identifier distinguishes between different models within a company’s product lineup. Devices or appliances sharing the same model number are of the same model type, which aids in categorizing and managing product lines.

Serial number (S/N): Each device or appliance receives a unique serial number. This unique ID helps companies track individual items back to the customers who own them, providing a clear record of ownership. This number is exclusive to the original manufacturer and is essential for service and support.

IMEI number: Standing for International Mobile Equipment Identity, the IMEI uniquely identifies mobile phones on a global scale. This number is crucial for tracking and securing mobile devices, particularly in cases of theft or loss.

Additional tips

  • Use a flashlight: If the area is dim, using a flashlight can help you spot and read the numbers on home appliances or TVs more clearly.
  • Take a photo: If the label is in a hard-to-reach spot, taking a photo with your phone can make it easier to read and record the numbers.
  • Check the user manual: Sometimes, the model and serial numbers are listed in the user manual or the purchase documents.
  • Contact Samsung support: If you’re still having trouble locating these numbers, Samsung’s customer support can guide you through the process.
