Why does a device registered on SmartThings Find appear as lost?

SmartThings Find is a powerful feature that helps you locate and track your devices. In this guide, you will learn how SmartThings determines when a device is classified as lost.

When is a device classified as lost in SmartThings Find?

  • Mobile device:

A mobile device is classified as lost in SmartThings Find if it remains disconnected or blocked from a Wi-Fi or mobile data network for a duration of 30 minutes or longer.

  • Wearable device:

Galaxy Watch: A smartwatch is classified as lost in SmartThings Find if it remains disconnected or blocked from a Wi-Fi or mobile data network, or if it is disconnected from the mobile phone for a duration of 30 minutes or longer.

Galaxy Buds: The earbuds are classified as lost if they are disconnected from the registered device for 30 minutes or longer (excluding the time when the Galaxy Buds are inside the charging case).
