Leaking Dispenser on a Samsung Fridge

It is normal for the water dispenser of your Samsung fridge to drip after being used. It generally stops after a couple of seconds once the water has been dispensed. However, in the event that your water dispenser continues to leak or you find that it is more than just drops, please try some of the troubleshooting steps below.

If you have just had your fridge installed, you’ll need to purge any air that could be trapped. Dispense approximately 3 litres of water to remove all air in the system.
Ensure the water filter has been installed correctly and not leaking, or replace the water filter if necessary. Air may get trapped in the system after replacing the water filter.
Ensure the fridge is levelled correctly. If the fridge is not levelled correctly, the ice maker and ice chute may not align properly, allowing warm air to enter and melt the ice, which will cause water to drip from the dispenser.
Please ensure that your fridge is properly cleaned of any build up. You may have a build up of ice in your ice chute.
If the air vents are blocked, especially with a plastic bag, your fridge can over cool. This can cause the water filter to break and leak water.
Samsung approved water filters can be found on our Home Appliance Accessories page. Unapproved filters can leak and cause damage to your fridge.
Make sure the seal for the ice chute and ice bucket has no gaps. If the Ice Chute and Ice Bucket hasn't been sealed properly, warm air will enter and melt the ice, causing water to drip from the dispenser.
If the doors were recently removed, the water line under the hinge cover could have moved. If there is a kink at the connection or if the water lines aren't connected properly, it will let air into the lines and cause a drip.
Note: If the leakage due to the water line, you will need to contact the installer of the water line. Samsung takes NO responsibility for the water line installation.
