Samsung POS is a highly secure, easy to setup and cost-effective solution
that will give your business the flexibility to accept contactless payments from virtually any location.
Works in 3 easy steps
1. Enter the payment amount
Create an invoice, select your pre-entered items or simply enter the purchase amount.
2. Accept payment
Accept payment by tapping a card or digital wallet onto the back of your eligible smartphone or tablet - no additional hardware required. For high value transactions, customers input their PIN onto the screen.
3. Send a receipt and receive your funds
Once payment is approved, issue a receipt via SMS or email. Funds will typically be deposited into your nominated bank account the next business day. For full details view the Fee Schedule.

Who is Quest Payment Services?Samsung has collaborated with Quest to launch Quest’s mobile point of sale solution, Samsung POS. Quest provides the merchant services facility which customers must sign up to in order to gain access to Samsung POS.

How long will it take for my merchant account to be approved?To create your merchant account Quest need to follow some regulatory processes. In most cases, your application for a merchant facility will be approved and you will receive a welcome email within 48 hrs (or 2 working days). If application involves a trust the approval process will be longer.

Can funds be deposited into any bank account?Your funds can be deposited into any Australian bank account. The bank account is nominated in the merchant account sign up process.

How quickly are funds deposited into the bank account?For Card Payments, Settlement typically occurs next (1) business days after the original transaction was processed (T+1).

Are the funds deposited in full or net of fees?Funds are deposited net of fees.

Are the funds deposited in bulk (from a full day’s takings) or individually (one deposit for each payment)?The funds deposited to your account will be delivered as a bulk payment.

How are fees paid?Transaction fees will be deducted before funds are settled to your nominated account. Any other fees will be direct debited from the nominated bank account.

Is it possible to have revenue paid into one bank account and have fees taken from a different bank account?No, this is not possible. Bank deposits and fees are taken from the same bank account.

Is the standard charge of 1.79% for all card types? Does this fee remain for American Express payments as well?The fee of 1.79% applies to Visa, Mastercard and eftpos cards. For American Express cards you need to set up a merchant facility directly with American Express. This can be done at https://www.americanexpress.com/en-au/business/merchant/apply-accept/. American Express charges are set and billed directly by them.

Can I surcharge customers for the fee? If so, how do I do this?This function is not currently available. This is a function we hope to add in the future.

Can Samsung get access to my transactional or customer data?No, Samsung does not have access to transaction or customer data, unless you have expressly opted-in to receiving marketing communications from Samsung during the sign up process. Unless you have opted-in, only Quest can access your data, as provider of your merchant facility. Do you need an internet connection to take a payment, or can you take payments offline?To take payments you need an internet or cellular (e.g. 4G) connection. This can be via a SIM card or using wi-fi. You cannot take payments offline.

How do I process a refund?You can process a refund by pressing the refund button on the Paid tab. This button is on the bottom right corner of the screen. If you want to process a refund and link it to a paid invoice or sale, navigate to the Paid tab, tap the relevant invoice or sale and then tap the overflow button in the bottom right corner, selecting the Refund option.

Where is the NFC antenna located on a Samsung smartphoneFor the majority of Samsung smartphones, the NFC antenna is located in the middle on the back of the phone.

What tips can you provide to help me seamlessly take payments on a Samsung smartphone?In order to get the best ‘payment tap’ experience, you need to connect the NFC antenna on the back of your Samsung device to the NFC antenna of the physical payment card / digital wallet.
Receiving device
- • For the majority of Samsung smartphones, the NFC antenna is located in the middle on the back of the phone – so the cards or digital wallets need to be tapped there
- • For the majority of payment cards, the antenna is in the middle of the card. Note the NFC antenna is not housed in the chip you can see on the card.
- • For digital wallets on smartphones, the position of the NFC antenna changes. On Apple phones, the NFC antenna is generally located at the top of the back of the device. For Samsung phones, the NFC antenna is generally located in the middle on the back of the device
