How to connect your Samsung TV to a keyboard and mouse?

Connect a Bluetooth or USB keyboard and mouse to your Samsung TV to make it easier to navigate the settings, use the internet browser and enter account credentials. While most Samsung TVs are bluetooth enabled, you may need to double check the specifications of your specific TV. Follow the steps below to learn how.

USB Keyboards and Mouse

Plug the wireless USB connection of your keyboard and/or mouse into your Samsung TV. Most Samsung TVs manufactured before 2018 will automatically recognize the device without needing to change any settings on the TV. 

Bluetooth Keyboards and Mouse

To add a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard, make sure the device is in Bluetooth pairing mode. If your device is not detected, move it closer to the TV and select Refresh on the TV screen. The TV will scan for available devices again.

Follow the steps below according to the model of your TV for more information.

1 Press the Home Home button on your remote control and then head to Settings

3 Select Connection and then External Device Manager
Select Connection then External Device Manager
4 Select Input Device Manager
Select Connections then External Device Manager
5 Then choose Bluetooth Device List
Select Connections then External Device Manager
6 Ensure your Bluetooth device is in pairing mode. Once it appears, select your Bluetooth device
Select your Bluetooth device
7 Click on Pair and connect
Click on the device and Pair and Connect
8 Your keyboard and/or mouse are now connected!
Your device is now connected

1 Press the Home Home button on your TV Remote and select Settings Settings

2 Choose General General then select External Device Manager
Choose General > External device manager
3 Click on Input Device Manager

Note: Ensure your keyboard and/or mouse are in Bluetooth pairing mode

Select Input Device Manager
4 Click on Bluetooth Device List
Click on Bluetooth device
5 Select your Bluetooth device from the list

6 Click on Pair and Connect
Click on the device and Pair and Connect
7 Your keyboard and/or mouse are now connected!
Your device is now connected

Bluetooth Keyboard or Mouse:

To add a Bluetooth Mouse or Keyboard, make sure the device is in Bluetooth pairing mode, and select the device through the TV settings:

Settings > General > External Device Manager > Keyboard Manager > Add Bluetooth Keyboard

  • 2015 J Series TVs: MENU/123 > Menu > System > Device Manager > Keyboard Settings > Add Bluetooth Keyboard
  • 2014 H Series TVs: System > Device Manager > Keyboard Settings > Add Bluetooth Keyboard
