Why does fingerprint recognition not work when the screen is turned off, in AOD mode, or when folded?

The fingerprint recognition function is supported in the off screen, AOD, and folded states. To minimize inconvenience caused by unintended touch of the fingerprint sensor when holding a phone, the default setting of the device is set to the main screen.

You can set the fingerprint recognition operation in the off screen or AOD state as follows:

• Go to Settings > Security and Privacy > Biometrics > Fingerprints > Fingerprint always on > Select your preference: [Off, Cover Screen, Main Screen (default setting), Cover and Main Screens]
