Play and control music on your Samsung smart watch

Last Update date : 2024-01-11

Are you prepared to enjoy the independence of a wireless, phone-free, and essentially weightless workout? You can play music directly from your smart watch if it has a built-in speaker. Never mind if it doesn't—it will! Simply connect your Bluetooth headphones to start using them. The ideal playlist may be created by simply adding and removing music! With a Spotify premium membership, you can stream music if that's your preferred method.

Using the Galaxy Wearable app is the main way to export music to your watch. First, make sure the music you want to add is on your phone. Song files cannot be exported directly from a PC when the watch is connected to your Galaxy or Android phone. You can find the newest Galaxy phones on our website.

  • After you've added your music to your phone, open the Galaxy Wearable app.
  • Tap Watch settings, and then tap Manage content or Add content to your watch. Next, tap Add tracks.
  • You can select songs individually, or tap All in the upper left corner to select them all. Tap Done once you have the songs you want.
  • You may be required to grant permissions when transferring music. You will receive a notification on the watch to grant them.
  • Next, open the Music app on your watch to access the music tracks. It's that simple!

There are quite few options you'll be able to control through Music player, it allows you to enhance your music experience and spend quality time with your favorite songs.

Music player controls:

Volume control: Set the volume level.
Switch device: Alternate between your phone or watch's playlist.
Next track: Skip to the next track.
Play or Pause: Start or pause the track that is playing.
Previous track or restart: Go back to the previous track or restart the current track.

Library: Using the bottom of the screen, swipe up to access your music collection. You might need to touch the Library button on some watch models in order to access it. You may see your tracks, artists, albums, and other content here. If you don't have any music files on the watch itself, this option might not be available.

The music player on your linked phone will immediately switch to the music app you are currently using, such as Spotify, if you are doing so. The app you want to control, however, may be changed right from the watch.

To do this, open the Music app on your watch. If you see a watch icon on the music player, tap it so you see a phone icon. Now tap More options (the three vertical dots), and then tap Music player. From here, you can scroll through your audio apps and tap the one you want to control.

Deleting music stored on your watch is easy. And don't worry, the tracks you delete from the watch will not be deleted from your phone.

  • Navigate to and open the Music app on your watch.
  • Swipe up from the bottom of the screen. On some models, you may need to tap Library in order to access your songs.
  • Locate the song(s) you want to delete. Tap and hold a song to select it.
  • If you have more tracks you'd like to remove, then scroll down and tap each one, or just tap All at the top of the screen to select everything.
  • Once all of your desired tracks have been selected, tap Delete.
