How do I delete all my personal information from my Samsung device?
A factory reset, also known as a hard reset or master reset, is an effective, last-resort method of troubleshooting for mobile phones. It will restore your phone to its original factory settings, erasing all your data in the process. Because of this, it's important to back up the information before you do a factory reset.
This will erase all data including:
- Google account
- System and app data
- Settings
- Downloaded apps
- Music
- Pictures
- All other user data
- Service provider apps and contacts
- Settings -> General management -> Reset -> Factory data reset -> Reset -> delete all
- Turn off your phone, then press and hold the Power/Bixby key and Volume Up key, then press and hold the Power key. Release the keys when the Android mascot appears. When the Android system recovery menu appears, use the Volume Down key to select "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" and press the Power/Bixby key to proceed. Select Yes and proceed again. When the factory reset completes, select "Reboot System Now".
This will reset all the settings on your phone except:
- Security settings
- Language settings
- Accounts
- personal data
- Settings for downloaded apps

Settings -> General management -> Reset -> Reset all settings -> Reset settings -> reset
This will reset all network settings, including:
- WI-FI
- Mobile data
- Bluetooth

Settings -> General management -> Reset -> Reset network settings -> Reset settings -> reset
This will be reset to default settings except:
- Keyboard
- Font size
- Accessibility settings in downloaded apps will not be affected
