Troubleshooting network issues
Wired Network Connection Failed
You can troubleshoot and resolve common issues related to wired network connections and Internet access, by following these steps:
1
Check the LAN Cable: Ensure that the LAN cable is securely plugged in at both ends. A loose or disconnected cable can disrupt the network connection.
2
Verify the Access Point: Confirm that the access point (router or modem) is turned on. If the access point is on but the issue persists, try turning it off. Wait for 1 or 2 minutes, then turn it back on to refresh the connection.
3
Model Compatibility: Be aware that some models do not support wired networks. Verify that your device is compatible with wired connections.
Connected to a local network, but not to the Internet
If your device shows that it is connected to a local network but is unable to access the Internet, you should:
1
Check the Internet LAN Cable Connection: Make sure that the Internet LAN cable is properly connected to the access point's external LAN port. A misconnection can prevent Internet access.
2
Verify DNS Settings: Examine the DNS settings in the IP settings menu to ensure they are configured correctly. Incorrect DNS settings can cause issues with Internet connectivity.
To check and adjust these settings, navigate through: Home > (left directional button) > Settings > All Settings > Connection > Network > Network Status > IP Settings.
