How Can I Fix My Samsung Monitor Not Powering On?
If the indicator light is not showing, first verify the power switch, inspect the power cord, and test the outlet. At this point, this basic troubleshooting is the only method to attempt resolving the issue on your own. If the monitor still doesn't turn on, it will require servicing. Below are some steps you can follow to inspect the monitor.
Some older monitors feature a power switch on the back, similar to the one found on a desktop computer. This switch needs to be turned on before the front power button will function.
Many monitors also have a multi-purpose button, known as a jog controller, which not only powers the monitor but also allows access to its menu. This button can be pressed or pushed to navigate and select options within the menu. When the monitor is off, pressing the jog controller will turn it on.
Unplug the monitor's power cord, then plug another device (such as a lamp) into the same outlet to ensure it is working properly.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor, then reconnect it to both the outlet you tested and the monitor.
While it's uncommon for power cords to malfunction, if you have a spare cord available, you can try using it. Alternatively, you may consider purchasing a new one.
