Unable to backup device to Samsung Cloud

Samsung Cloud lets you sync and back up data from certain apps, like Samsung Notes, Calendar, and Reminders. If you are receiving error messages that syncing has failed, there are a few things you can check, such as your battery percentage, to fix the issue.

  1. Check your battery.

    Syncing and backup will fail when your phone has less than 15% battery power. If needed, plug your device into a charger and let it reach a substantial percentage before syncing again.

  2. Check your Wi-Fi connection.

    If your apps are set to only sync when connected to Wi-Fi, your phone may be unable to sync when there is a weak network connection.

    To change your sync settings, go to your desired app, such as Samsung Notes, tap Menu (the three horizontal lines), and then tap the Settings icon. Tap Sync with Samsung Cloud, and then make sure the switch at the top of the screen is turned on. Tap Sync using, and then select Wi-Fi or mobile data. This way, your data can be synced at all times.   3. Samsung Subscription Services will be terminated starting November 30th, 2021. Former subscribers will not have access to extra storage space that came with their subscription, and every account will have a total of 15GB of storage space.

  4. Check your Cloud usage. 

    Syncing and backup will fail if there is not enough storage space in your Samsung Cloud account. Every Samsung account gets 15GB of storage. You can check how much is being used by signing into your account on the Samsung Cloud website.

    If needed, delete any backups or files that are taking up too much space.
