Flex your Galaxy Z Fold2 5G for a new way to take photos

Capturing pictures and videos is easy and enjoyable on your new Galaxy Z Fold2 5G. Flex Mode allows you to use the Camera app on both the front and main screens to capture selfies, take videos, and view your Gallery. You can also use Auto Framing to keep things in focus when you’re filming your friends or family. Plus, the Camera app can be used in Landscape and Portrait modes on both screens for added convenience.

Information provided applies to devices sold in Canada. Available screens and settings may vary for Galaxy Z Fold2 5G sold in other countries. The hinge hardware supports Flex mode at angles between 75° and 115°. For your convenience, Flex mode can also be set to activate before or after 75° and 115°. It may be difficult to maintain Flex mode while moving due to shaking or other movement. It is recommended to keep the phone stationary while in Flex mode.

The Camera app is great on its own, but you can do even more with photos when your Z Fold2 is partially folded in Flex Mode. The main screen will divide into sections for the viewfinder and Gallery. You can also enable Flex Mode without folding your device.

1 From the main screen, navigate to and open the Camera app.
2 Then, begin folding your device. The screen will split between the camera’s viewfinder and the Gallery preview. You can swap the viewfinder and Gallery locations by double tapping the empty space above the Camera controls.
3 To take a picture, tap PHOTO, and then line up the viewfinder. Tap Capture.

4 Select the Gallery preview to view your photo, or swipe on the thumbnails to view all your recent photos.
5 Unfold your device to view your images on the full screen.

6 If you prefer to keep your device unfolded while using the Camera app, you can still use Flex Mode view. Tap the icon in the top right corner (it looks like two arrows) to toggle Flex mode when the device is unfolded.
7 Lastly, tap the icon in the top left corner to use the front screen as a viewfinder. This can be turned on or off.

You can take a great selfie using the front screen on your Z Fold2. With the camera's selfie option, the screen will help frame your face so you end up with a clear photo.

1 From the front screen, navigate to and open the Camera app. Then, tap SELFIE in the top right corner.
2 Unfold your device completely and then line up the rear camera lens until you’re in focus on the front screen.

Auto Framing can be used on both the front and main screens to film yourself, your friends, or your pets. This feature will focus, pan around, and zoom in on your subjects as you record.

1 From the front or main screen, navigate to and open the Camera app.
2 Tap VIDEO, and then tap the Auto Framing icon in the bottom right of the viewfinder (it looks like a circle with a dot in the center).

3 Tap Record and keep your device steady as you film. The camera will follow the subject you’re filming.

Auto Framing is only available in Video mode. Certain resolutions and ratios may not be supported by Auto Framing. Certain functions may not be available when Auto framing is on. Only people can be recognized, and there is a limit to how many people may be recognized.
