Differences between the 2021 Galaxy A 5G series

The Galaxy A series is back in 2021, and it is better than ever with two new phone models in Canada! There is a version for everyone, whether you want a phone that is perfect for your everyday needs or a model that will offer a top-of-the-line performance. If you are not sure where to even start, we have a basic rundown of the Galaxy A32 5G and Galaxy A52 5G and their unique qualities, such as size, battery capacity, cameras, and more.

All 2021 Galaxy A 5G phones have the same screen size, but there are some key differences, such as the type of display or the screen's refresh rate.

Screen size and display

You can check out the differences below:

  • The Galaxy A32 5G has an HD+ LCD Infinity-V display. The screen is 6.5 inches and has an adaptive 60Hz to 90Hz refresh rate.
  • The Galaxy A52 5G has an FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display. The screen is 6.5 inches and has a selectable 60Hz or 120Hz refresh rate.

Note: Measured diagonally, the screen size is 6.5 inches (16.51 cm) in the full rectangle and 6.3 inches (16 cm) accounting for the rounded corners. Actual viewable area is less due to the rounded corners and the camera hole.

The 2021 Galaxy A 5G phones all come with an amazing battery, fast charging capabilities, and a charger! However, the available features and accessories will vary depending on the model. Take a look below:

  • The Galaxy A32 5G has a 5,000 mAh battery with Fast Charging. The phone comes with a 15W charger.

Note: 5,000 mAH is a typical value tested under third-party laboratory condition. Typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples tested under IEC 61960 standard. The rated (minimum) capacity is 4,860 mAh. Actual battery life may vary depending on network environment, usage patterns and other factors.

  • The Galaxy A52 5G has a 4,500 mAh battery that is compatible with Super Fast Charging. The phone comes with a 15W charger, but you can purchase a 25W charger for it.

Note: 4,500 mAH is a typical value tested under third-party laboratory condition. Typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples tested under IEC 61960 standard. The rated (minimum) capacity is 4,370mAh. Actual battery life may vary depending on network environment, usage patterns and other factors.

You will not have to compromise on security with your 2021 Galaxy A 5G series phone because all of them come with fingerprint security! And it is very easy to register your fingerprints and set up the security feature.

  • The Galaxy A32 5G has a fingerprint scanner on the Side key.
  • The Galaxy A52 5G has an in-display fingerprint scanner.

You will never have to worry about your 2021 Galaxy A 5G series phone slowing down or freezing, since each model has good RAM and storage space. Plus, all of the models can use microSD cards to expand their storage capacity to 1 TB (microSD cards are sold separately).

  • The Galaxy A52 5G has 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

If you are wondering whether or not your phone is water and dust resistant, you can check its IP rating. Out of the 2021 Galaxy A 5G series phones, only the Galaxy A52 5G has an IP rating, which is IP67 (this phone stands up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes). The Galaxy A32 5G does not have an IP rating; in other words, it not water and dust resistant.

Either way, you should try to keep your phone dry and use our water resistance guide to keep it running smoothly, even when it is exposed to water.

Note: The Galaxy A52 5G is rated as IP67, based on test conditions for submersion in up to 1 meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. Not advised for beach, pool use and soapy water. In case you spill liquids containing sugar on the phone, please rinse the device in clean, stagnant water while clicking keys. Safe against low water pressure only. High water pressure such as running tap water or shower may damage the device.
